Wanted: Swiss Couple to Adopt Me

Well today was our first full day in Switzerland and I'm in love. This place is just too gorgeous. So if you know any lovely Swiss couples looking for a 19 year old American to mooch off of them for a while, this girl will accept the job. Moving on... Not all students are created equally, while I have a lakeside view some have parking lot views--Unfortunate for them, but not for me.  Today started with me recovering from a crushing Dots loss on the train yesterday to the Mike Lennon, that kid knows how to make a snake hole on a dots board. I felt defeated, but a solid hotel du port breakfast got my day rolling. We all got the metro in our business casuals. After walking around for a bit we headed over to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which takes on sports related court cases. Louise Reilly gave us a background of all things CAS along with a tour. It was basically the moment that a semester of Sport Law prepared me for. We also got FREE PENS! Everyone went crazy. But it was a great experience and a big thanks to CAS.  Then there was a fast paced journey to the international Olympic committee. I've basically been waiting for this moment since I was 14, so I was excited to say the least. We met with Timo Lumme, Tim, Travis, and Daniella. They all work with Olympic marketing. I personally loved all the videos we watched--made me real hyped for london 2012. We had more than enough questions to keep everyone occupied for awhile. Notebooks, pens, sparkling water, being able to see sailboats out the window, some inside scoop on the Olympics, and meeting with top sports executives in Switzerland... I plan on going back to the IOC every day. We were given the rundown on all things Olympic. The Olympic rings are recognized by 96% of people-- think about that one. The Olympic operation is more than impressive. It was a surreal experience. We checked out the local beaches before heading to dinner.... Just another great day Olympic odyssey-ing. I don't ever want to leave Switzerland. As the Old adage says: 5 days till Plaut's big day.  --Kylee Haggerty
