Off to Greece

Today we left at 8 am from Switzerland (depressing) and headed 45 minutes down the road to the Geneva airport. We left a man down but I am sure Jordan is loving life in Lausanne. If I had to pick a place to get stuck, I would pick there! Once we reached the airport, I have never seen a security line move so smoothly as it did there. Took less than 15 minutes! We had a nice flight to Greece over the Adriatic sea and the boot of Italy to Athens.

Once we got there, we realized we really don't understand anything. The letters are different and everything, it's like a different world! It's beautiful though. Our guide and chief translator, Nike (pronounced Nikki) was giving us some background during our 5 hour bus ride from Athens to Olympia. I think some took more from the history lesson than others, but she explained to us about the alphabet, the city states government, and the gods and goddesses during the 8th century bce.

Our view from the hotel in Olympia is of awesome mountains and we are very close to the main street with the shops! The best thing about Greece so far: the prices. Compared to Switzerland it's dirt cheap! I paid 30 francs dollars for dinner and a drink last night in Switzerland. Tonight I got a meal and a drink for 5 euros. And there are such great stuff in the shops. Our hotel has a pool which we will definitely be using tomorrow.

We are so excited for Plaut's big day tomorrow and to see the sites where the games began!
